GPATS is happy to announce a new lightning display service which allows customers to view live lightning data directly from Google Earth.

Product Information:

For as little as a dollar per day, customers will have access to live lightning data covering all of Australia.

Features of the GPATS lightning display:

Shows the last 10 minutes of Australian lightning events and automatically refreshes every 5 minutes

Shows the date, time, coordinates and amplitude of each lightning event at the click of a button

Has colour-coded icons which clearly show the type of lightning event ('cloud to cloud', 'positive cloud to ground' and 'negative cloud to ground')

Zooms to a strike location when a user double clicks a lightning icon

Requirements:

The GPATS Live Lightning Display requires the following items in order to operate.

An internet connection

An installation of Google Earth

The GPATS lightning viewer file: lightning.zip
